Trusted Connectivity Alliance: March Member News 2024

Welcome from the TCA Chair

At the end of 2023, GSMA reported that 69% of the global population was subscribed to a mobile service – representing an increase of 1.6 billion people since 2015. GSMA also reported this month that standardisation initiatives and technology developments promise to extend the benefits of cellular connectivity to various IoT verticals.

As the demand for cellular connectivity expands to underpin even more aspects of our global economy, TCA is committed to identifying, defining and promoting solutions that will help ensure a trusted, secure, and sustainable digital future.

As part of our commitment to sustainability, we are working to define the first industry-led, common lifecycle assessment (LCA) methodology to assess the environmental footprint of SIM and eSIM products. Organisations committed to climate leadership can join the TCA Sustainability Working Group to play a proactive role in shaping more sustainable solutions and practices. Finally, this month we have also launched a Board Insights series, in which each of our Board members share their unique perspectives on how the secure connectivity industry is taking shape, and the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. I hope you will enjoy watching!
