Trusted Connectivity Alliance: February 2025 Member News
Welcome from the TCA Chair
As our industry convenes at MWC Barcelona this week, the latest market monitoring figures from Trusted Connectivity Alliance (TCA) reveal that 2024 was a landmark year of growth across the eSIM ecosystem.
eSIM shipment volumes collectively reported by TCA members in 2024 surpassed half a billion units, increasing 35% year-on-year to reach 503 million. TCA also estimates that the total available market for eSIM was 514 million units. The growing availability of eSIM-enabled devices was matched by increasing consumer adoption, with consumer eSIM profile downloads* rising by 56%.
This is the clearest demonstration yet of the extent to which eSIM technology is now being harnessed across the global digital economy. And as the eSIM ecosystem continues to expand, it also underscores the importance of industry-wide collaboration to ensure eSIM deployments are underpinned by a strong foundation of trust, consistency and reliability.
This is an important topic that TCA will be speaking at Embedded World Conference next week. With SGP.32 poised to accelerate eSIM adoption across the IoT, I will explore the benefits for specific use cases and the importance of sustained industry collaboration as adoption builds. You can join me for this talk on 12 March from 13:15 – 15:45 CET in session 1.14 of the ‘IoT and Connectivity’ track. Learn more here.
Later this month, TCA is also speaking at the virtual BCN LATAM event. Join our presentation, ‘eSIM Connectivity: The Industry Outlook for 2025’ on 20 March to learn about the key initiatives TCA is driving to promote secure and interoperable connectivity. Register here.
