Trusted Connectivity Alliance: May 2026 Member News
Welcome from the TCA Chair
A key role of Trusted Connectivity Alliance (TCA) is to use our collective footprint to support and promote unified industry approaches and responses.
This was highlighted with the public release of the first industry-led, common lifecycle assessment methodologies, which provide a consistent and reliable approach for determining the environmental impact of SIM and eSIM products.
The methodologies will help increase trust, transparency and informed decision-making across the industry by ensuring that environmental claims are supported by credible and objective methodologies that have been collectively developed and backed by leading industry players. The methodologies are available to TCA members here and can also be accessed by any industry participant by contacting info@trustedconnectivityalliance.org.
Elsewhere, TCA has been working to review and submit feedback on several draft standards related to the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) – including prEN 18330, prEN 40000 and prEN 50764. While TCA welcomes the progress reflected in the draft standards, a central observation is that certain general assumptions embedded in the CRA and its supporting standards do not fully reflect the technical and operational reality of secure element (SE) technologies, including UICCs and eUICCs.
In response, TCA has published a blog exploring TCA’s position relative to the CRA and the key considerations we have raised for policymakers and standardisation bodies.
To discuss these initiatives – and more – we encourage all members to join us at our Annual General Meeting (AGM), taking place this year in Madrid, Spain on Tuesday 23 June at 9am CEST. Attendees can also dial-in virtually. Ahead of the AGM, TCA members can explore our Strategic and Technical Roadmap to learn more about how to get involved in TCA’s initiatives and Working Groups.
